“. . .  Thanks for writing the definitive work on this tragic event.  Reading the book brought back lots of memories for me, not all good ones either.  I started my law enforcement career in January of 1972 and the Newhall shooting was still very much a topic of conversation.  I heard the “squad room” version of events and the false stories of saving brass, etc.  Thanks for finally setting the record straight.  I was a firearms instructor with both agencies I worked for so I was regularly aware of the changing atmosphere in LE training post Newhall.  We have come so far since those days.

I’ve put your book right up on the shelf next to my copies of Street Survival and Officer Down, Code Three.  I hope you do well with it.  The second by second breakdown of the shooting was very gripping and should be read by everyone working the street.
